Huge thanks to Kathy for sharing this. Darren is quoted in the 'Scene + Heard' section of the October issue of InStyle (Australia), where they ask celebrities a different question each month. The question for October is:
What's the worst pick-up line you've ever heard?
and Darren answered:
I usually say things like 'I just wanted to say Hi!' That can work really well or it can just crash and burn.
Thanks Francesca for the info that Peter from Sound World just sent word that the pre order price for the Olivia Newton John November release 2 (Duets) has been lowered to $24.95 (AUS). Don't worry if you've already orderd because you will be charged the lower price.

Thanks Tiara for sharing this news. Darren is participating in the series of ads titled 'I Wish' for UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Tiara explains:
"...they get famous people to talk about what they wish for the world. In his ad Darren talks about how he tries to do his part to save his environment, that he hopes people will live to the motto "Think Globally Act Locally", and that education is important and therefore he wishes for equality in the world, especially in education.
I saw this ad on BBC World so I'm not sure if it airs anywhere else, though I'm thinking it does get airplay on news channels. Stay tuned."

Yippy! Darren has updated his diary at DarrenHayesMusic.com in the Member's section. We can't copy word for word but we can give you some of the highlights about what he said:
He completed the 'I Miss You video' while in Australia with director Gary Marshall (Crush) and Australian actress Rose Byrne (Two Hands, Star Wars Episode II); he's also been completing the US version of that single - which he says he really likes - but ohh noo.. they're deciding whether or not to release it before Christmas. (please, do!) He talks about the Crush/Holiday Mix, which took a long time for them to get permission to use Madonna's song. They're hoping to get it on a CD as a Bside. (Yay!) He also did a new photoshoot while in Australia - makes you wonder how he fit it all in while doing concerts! And great news for the UK Fans: Sony will be releasing a special Tour CD there, as they did in Australia, which will include the new pictures, and never-heard songs which he describes as acoustic, covers and beautiful. He thoroughly enjoyed working with Olivia Newton John on their duet and ....drumroll.....it IS the 'Lift Me Up' that Darren wrote and that was on the ConnecteD site. He has a lot of great things to say about what a gracious performer she is. Can't wait to hear that one!! Fan Club members should also keep an eye on the site, as he says they will be sending pictures of the tour to put up.
Thanks Peter at Sound World for this news. It is true that the brand new
Darren Hayes and Olivia Newton John duet will be exclusively on her new album 2 (DUETS). The album is produced by Charles Fisher (Savage Garden) and is full of duets featuring:

Human Nature - Love You Crazy
David Campbell - I Will Be Right Here
Billy Thorpe - Bad About You
Jimmy Little - Happy Day
PLUS tracks with
Keith Urban, Michael McDonald and 2 VERY SPECIAL guests
The album will ONLY be released in Australia, therefore this is a special

Thanks Tiina for sharing this article about Darren's upcoming visit to the 'Tallinn' in 'Estonia' on October 31st. Click here to read it.
Thanks Tonia for sharing this information:
Tickets for Estonia are already on sale: from Monday, 16th of September, and the commercial for the concert is all over Tallinn. They cost 290 krons (around 18 dollars). There's an article about it here, telling about the venue (the stage is in the
middle) and that Darren loves to get close to his fans that's why
this concerts hall suits him so much.
As to St.Petersburg concert, we were told that tickets will go on sale on Monday, 23th, and the cost would be from 300 to 650 rules (around 10 to 20 dollars). 300 rubles is tickets to the dance floor close to the stage. The New Arena usually sells cheap tickets in advance, so that fans would be able to get them for suitable price, and then rises them to 20$ as the lowest price for the dancing area."

Thanks DarrensStuntDouble for info that there is a small article in today's 'City News' paper in Brisbane about Darren shooting a video at a coffee shop called "if" in 'The Valley'. Also, thanks Spinner for typing up this small article appearing in today's 'Courier Mail Brisbane':
He might be a world-beating pop star but Darren Hayes has not forgotten where he comes from.
The former Savage Garden frontman is in Brisbane this week to record the music video for his next single I Miss You using local talent.
Proving that Logan City isn't only good for pop stars, local filmmaker Grant Marshall is directing the clip.
Hayes picked Marshall to direct the video for the current top-20 hit Crush (1980 Me) after watching one of his short films. Marshall's sister Claire choreographed the clip, filmed at Yatala Drive-In using local dance students.
``I paid for it myself because it was the song nobody wanted to release as a single, and a director nobody had heard of,'' Hayes said.
``But everybody was so impressed with him. You can go to America to shoot this, and they'll wheel out all their cliches. You can't get this kind of personal touch. Grant is still original. He isn't jaded yet.''
I now have all of the 'Too Close For Comfort' tour book photos up on my site. Click here to see them.

"CRUSH LANDING
Trigger happy retailers caused Darren Hayes' worst ever chart debut last week when they sold copies of his single Crush (1980 ME) a week earlier than its official onsale date. As a result Crush jumps from No. 77 to No. 19 this week, his third Top 20 Solo hit. Comercial radio stations have now been services with "Crush on Holiday", an official bootleg of Crush with a replayed version of Madonna's Holiday, but this mix has yet to be released.
