Thanks Cindy for the info that the 'Crush' performance that Darren taped for 'Top of the Pops' in the UK before he went on holiday, will be aired this Friday. Here is the schedule from the TOTP website:
7:30pm, Friday 31st January BBC1
3:25am, Sunday 2nd February BBC1
And here is what they have to say about Darren's upcoming appearance on their show:
That old devil Dazza is a bit of a heartbreaker, eh ladies? Since melting many a young girls heart when fronting Aussie songsters Savage Garden, the extremely scrumptious Hayes has carved himself a place in the UK charts with brooding looks and an overly-stubbly chin.
But this single turns the tables, with Darren admitting that it is he who has a crush - for a change! He also has a big case of '80s mania as he sings: "Frosted Lipstick, Parachute Pants, Doc Martins...PacMan, Asteroids, Miami Vice, Too early for Vanilla Ice, Crimpin', The Poodle Perm And Blond Highlights."
So, will he be donning an all-in-one Boy George outfit and breakdancing for all he's worth come Friday? There's only one way to find out...

The Darren Hayes Fanzine site has been updated with some news from Darren:
There have been a lot of questions lately regarding Darren's plans
after Spin and in particular for 2003. As Crush is the last single to
be released from Spin in the world outside of America, Darren plans to
take some down time in the first half of the year with very tentative
plans to go into the studio around July. In his time off Darren plans
to take some classes at University (for fun), work on his guitar, write
some songs and most importantly raise his new puppy (photos to come!).
Obviously after 2 years of making and promoting Spin he is going to
enjoy the next 6 months 'off' while preparing for the next chapter in
his career. One thing we can tell you for sure is that he will be
editing and piecing together the
DVD of the Too Close For Comfort tour with Director Grant Marshall,
with hopes for a release later in the year. Although he'll be
keeping a low profile, we'll obviously be keeping fanclub members up to
date on the details of his down time. Oh and that puppy.

Thanks Portione for sharing this info. The radio station 'BRMB' has a little review of 'Crush' on their site:
After tasting solo success with the hits ‘Insatiable’, ‘Strange Relationship’ and ‘I Miss You’, Darren Hayes is about to set the charts alight again with the fourth cut from his ‘Spin’ album. ‘Crush’ (out on 20th January) is upbeat, synth-pop at its very best and is all about Darren’s favourite decade – the 1980s. The video combines Eighties kitsch with a tongue-in-cheek nod to seminal teen movies from the era including ‘Grease’, ‘Flashdance’ and ‘Breakdance’. In fact, if it was part of the Eighties then chances are Darren has managed to squeeze it into the video. For more on the lovely Mr. Hayes, visit his official website at www.darrenhayes.co.uk.
You can also see the video to 'Crush' on 'BRMB's' website by clicking here.
'BRFM' will also be reviewing Darren's music on 'Hughsey's' show on Monday sometime after 10am. Next week is also the chance to win a competition to Australia to celebrate Aus day in Sydney. Anyone interested will have to keep checking the site for details or listen in to BRMB. The trip is worth more than £10,000. What a fantastic opportunity for the lucky person who wins, good luck all! :)

Thanks Amanda for sharing the news that HMV.co.uk has a great review up on their site for the release of the UK 'Crush' single:
It seems like there's absolutely no stopping this Aussie singer at the moment. Off the back of three huge UK singles ('Insatiable', 'I Miss You' and 'Strange Relationship') and a top selling solo debut (sure you know, but Hayes was the singer for Savage Garden), the man returns with yet another potentially big song. Draped in that irresistible pop-rock guise and Darren Hayes's honeyed vocals, 'Crush' is another wonderful single from a young singer that's all set to deliver more great things in 2003. Both formats include bonus tracks with CD two adding an exclusive free poster.
