Thanks Georgie for typing up this short review of 'Crush (1980ME)' in 'the singles' section of today's 'Herald Sun' (Australia):
If you're going to make an '80s musical throwback, you may as well be shameless about it. Crush is more '80s than fluoro leg warmers and name drops everyone from Simon Le Bon to Papa Smurf. Don't let radio tell you he's not cool enough, kids, this is A-grade pop." - Four stars

Essentials - DARREN HAYES - Pop Singer
My most treasured possession is some rosary beads given to me by my sister 6 years ago. She travelled the world with them before having children. They are always with me and have been on every plane flight. I hang them in my hotel rooms. I don't use them but they are very grounding for me.
I'ts not nessessarily a Christian thing for me but an object of affection. They are as cheap as you can get and she got them from The Vatican.
Runner-up is an E.T. box set. It's an original vynil pressing, narrated by Michael Jackson. There's a huge pull out poster of Michael Jackson and E.T. together and the original application to join the E.T. fanclub from 1983. I'm a huge E.T. fan. That's in my house in San Francisco.

Huge ShayneHaze for sharing these. Here are 2 articles from Australian local papers that mention Darren's upcoming tour in Australia:
From ZebraHype: The now blonde bombshell half of Savage Garden - also known as Darren Hayes - will be kicking off on his first live solo tour since the savage pair split. The Too Close For Comfort Tour follows on from the success of Hayes' solo album, Spin. The show will highlight tracks from Spin, with Hayes also slipping in a few Savage Garden classics including Truly Madly Deeply, I Knew I Loved You, Affirmation, I Want You, To The Moon And Back, Santa Monica and Break Me Shake Me. Sounds like Dazza will be stirring up a pretty happening party and he won't have to do it all on his lonesome. Andrew Dorsett, Antigua Lee Novak, Tina Kopa, and Angela Bekker have been recruited as Hayes' back up band for the tour. This Too Close For Comfort Tour stops by at the Burswood Theatre on Sunday, September 15. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday August 9.
From X-Press: Ex-brunette Savage Gardener now blonde solo artist Darren Hayes is bringing his unique brand of pop to his Australian fans with his Too Close For Comfort Tour. Hayes kicks off the party in Melbourne at the end of August and closes the show at Burswood Theatre on Sunday, September 15. As well as performing tracks from his latest album, Spin (debuting at number three in the ARIA charts), Hayes will also be belting out some Savage' classics along the way. Tickets go on sale for the Perth leg of the out on Friday August 9 and are available from BOCS or click on www.bocsticketing.com.au.
