It looks like Darren has justfinished up this leg of his Too Close For Comfort tour with the last show in Osaka yesterday. He will be taking a couple of weeks off, then heading to Europe for some promo. The Asian shows that were cancelled should be rescheduled sometime next year, and if the special remixed "I Miss You," which is due to hit North America sometime around (or after) Christmas, does well then he may be touring here early next year! :)

Unfortunately the Darren chat that was scheduled for today has been prosponed. Apparently more people than are included in the total of Fan Club members logged in, or tried to and caused their servers to crash and Darren himself couldn't even log on. Darren did however answer as many questions (which were emailed in ahead of time) as he could before he had to go to sound check for his concert in Mexico today, and the questions and answers are posted in the members AND non-members section of their site. Click here to check them out.

Darren chatted at www.citaris.com from Mexico yesterday. Congrats to the lucky fans who found out about this in time, as it wasn't publicized ahead of time. Emma was able to attend and share a few tidbits with us. These aren't word-for-word, but her best recollections during the chat... which went very fast:

It was the coolest... He didn't receive the questions at first and kept saying (so we could hear it in realplayer) "I'm feeling so unpopular here, I have to make up my own questions." Then I guess the moderator just didn't care about screening the questions, so the screen was flooded and all of a sudden he could hardly keep up, and neither could we. He did say "tell Christina I was Dirrrrty first," and he said "Where You Want To Be" was one of the most emotional songs he had ever written. He was coming back to Europe next year to do concerts *yey*... He thinks Shakira's "underneath your clothes" is one of the best love songs atm... I can't recall it all, but he was very funny. He said he was thinking about plastic surgery, haha, and asked what we thought about it... I guess he needed to hear how cute he is. lol! And he wrote, in different parts of the chat, that Kylie, Robbie Williams, uhm queen Amidala, what's her name?, didn't call back. He said he learnt falsetto by singing along to Smokey Robinson. Oh yes, and one girl asked if he got her ET at one of the shows... He said something like "yes, it will be my ET #100 so thank you for that." He joked about Star Wars, that he was gonna be in the next episode as the popstar that went over to the Darkside. He called all of us "his popstars." He asked who we would come back as, if we could choose, and said he expected answers on his desk by Monday. He said he was disappointed with all those who booed at his support act, and said "how do you expect me to respect you after that", aiming at those who booed. "Crush" will be next UK single, scheduled to January 18th atm. He loves the support and said "keep supporting Spin."

Emma also shared these pictures from their website. Just click on the images below to see them in full size:

Thanks Ella for sharing this. WireImage.com has some recent photos of Darren from his 'CD:UK' performance, as well as some others from 'Party in the Park'. Unfortunatly this is a membership site so you can only see the smaller versions unless you subscribe. Click on any one of the images below to check it out:

Thanks BarbT for sharing this. There is a small review of Olivia Newton John's duet CD in today's Sunday Mail (Australia) and Darren is mentioned. Unfortunatly however, this is not a great review:

Unlike her well-researched, moving speech at the ARIA awards, Olivia Newton-John's latest album fails to capture the charm of her colourful career. Despite the impressive line-up of artists who sing with Olivia on the album, the music fails to live up to the billing. The one song which does shine is the duet Olivia does with the late Peter Allen but then again Tenterfield Saddler always was a heartstopper.

Tina Arena's voice overpowers Olivia in I'll come Runnin' and Darren Hayes is almost unrecognisable in Lift Me Up. You can't help but love Olivia but this album takes some getting used to.
