Thanks Rita for sharing this. There is a snippet from BRMB's Birmingham 'Party in the Park' programme book:

Darren Hayes
There's not many people who can boast of selling 20 million albums - but Darren Hayes can! As one half of Aussie super-duo Savage Garden, Darren conquered the pop world with singles such as 'Truly Madly Deeply' and 'I Want You' - and he's here today to do it all over again as a solo artist. After Darren and fellow Gardener Daniel Jones called it a day in 2000, his debut album 'Spin' entered the charts here at Number 2, and the first single from it, 'Insatiable', made a sizable dent in the Top 10. Laying out grooves that come across like a modern take on classic soulsters Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson, Darren's taken the Savage Garden
sound and added a timeless touch.

Reporter for the Herald Sun, Nui Te Koha, seems to enjoy kicking around false rumors and enraging Darren fans all over the world. This is the same reporter who wrote the FALSE article about Columbia/Sony downgrading Darren as a priority act in North America, which prompted a quick rebuttal from the President of Columbia and Roadshow music, among others. It seems from a new article by Koha that this reporter enjoys spending time on Darren's official message board, and has printed the news that long-time moderator, Carla Murray, was recently laid-off by Sony due to cutbacks (implying that that fact supports the earlier story). The fans at DH.com are quite out of sorts about this, and I don't blame them a bit; and see this article, which quotes a post to us fans by Carla, as a huge invasion of privacy. Although it is an official site, and is visited by several different media people, none are so blatently 'out to get' Darren/Columbia/Sony as Koha. Click here to read the article on Sun Herald's site. It's a shame to see journalists who act in such an unprofessional manner!!

Thanks Poli for sharing this:

Two weeks ago Insatiable was a new entry in the listener's chart on Radio FM Plus here in Bulgaria. This week Insatiable had a great success and Darren became number 1!!! Also the last week in the magazine "TV and Radio" which is very famous here, there was a nice and very big interview with Darren! ThanksTonia for sharing this. Sony Music Russia has some preliminary information about Darren's Too Close For Comfort tour coming to Russia. Here's a rough translation of what it says:

According to the preliminary data the former vocalist of Savage Garden will give three concerts - one in St. Petersburg and two in Moscow. The St. Petersburg venue is thus far unknown, and in the capital Hayes twice will perform in the Kremlin palace. Appearances take place 25, 26 and on 27 October.

Note: These dates are subject to change

Thanks Kate for sharing this. The following appeared in Music Week magazine:

Darren Hayes makes the biggest move within the Top 50 this week, rocketing 50 - 20 with Strange Relationship. The track's main impetus comes from 18 plays on Radio Two - more than any other record - which provide a bigger audience than its sizeable tally of 954 plays elsewhere. It is a follow-up to Hayes' debut solo single Insatiable, which climbed to number eight on the sales chart and number 12 on the airplay chart earlier this year.

Capital FM provides Hayes' second biggest audience segment, having aired Strange Relationship 20 times last week.

Thanks Carla for sharing this info from the Darren Hayes Music Fan Club:

Thanks Terry for sharing this. In yesterday's Sunday Express, 'S' Magazine, there's a Q&A with Darren. Click on the picture below to read it.

ABC is showing a repeat of the episode of The View that Darren appeared on last March again today. Here is the schedule from their website:

MONDAY, July 01 Peter Krause (Six Feet Under); Seth Green (Greg the Bunny); author Steven Emerson (American Jihad) joins the co-hosts for a "Real Life Hot Topic" discussion; musical guest Darren Hayes. (Originally aired 3/28/02). Check your local listings for times in your area.

Darren has come down with what is known 'Fatigue Syndrome' which is characterized by flu-like symptoms and major fatigue. He has been getting steriod injections to help. It was this illness that had Darren feeling bad during Savage Garden's last appearance on the Jay Leno Show. He's a strong man though because he's just finished giving great performances at CD:UK and Re:Covered and he has two Party in the Park events coming up on July 6th & 7th. I hope you sneak some rest in there Darren and get well soon! We love ya! =)
