Hey All... Hope everyone is holding up o.k considering the events of late. I personally have been concentrating on positivity rather than misery and am hoping that we can work toward a peaceful resolve or some kind of affirmative action in the future. Obviously my main concern is for the families of those affected directly by the tragedy. God speed relief from pain and sorrow I say. Anyway... just wanted to let you know that I did in fact participate in this incredible project that Bono and Jermaine Dupri produced called ARTISTS FOR LIFE.. It's a charity recording of Marvin Gaye's WHAT'S GOIN' ON and was actually recorded in NYC just days before the attack. It was originally intended to be an event to raise money and awareness for A.I.D.S research and the crisis surrounding that disease. Now.. the project will be splitting the funds between its original cause and Disaster Relief for the families of the attack on America.
It's an incredible cast of people including Britney, Nsync, Pink, Bono, Michael Stipe, No Doubt, Alicia Keys, Mary J..... the list goes on and on. Basically everyone in NYC for the MTV awards.
The track will be played for the first time on radio tomorrow (Friday) in the u.s (around 4.30 to 5 pm) and will also feature on the television special that is airing all over t.v on Friday night. For those of you who can't tell my voice... I am in the verse with Nsync and I sing the line "Don't punish me with brutality". I'm very proud to be a part of such an incredible cause and to be up there with so many incredible talents. Please try and buy the single when it comes out. Obviously it's for a good cause. You know I would only ever prostitute my name or beg you to buy something if it were for a worthy cause. So this one is it.
On a lighter note.. I begin mixing my album on Monday. I shoot the video for the first single in 6 weeks and I couldn't be happier with the results of everything.
I love you and I'm so proud that my fans are such caring and cool people. Your interest and sympathy for those affected during this difficult time has literally made me feel like a proud Pappy! loves.
me..xxxxxx
